Surf House
The client and architect drew inspiration from the Monterey Cypress which dotted the coastline and cliff the homesite sat on - overlooking one of Santa Cruz’ most notorious surf spots. The fully clad cypress interior and exterior coupled with natural and artisanal building materials required intensive oversight and material procurement management. The extensive Coastal Commission and Santa Cruz county permitting requirements were complex and lengthy. The patience and fortitude of the clients was rewarded with a special retreat for their family to enjoy. The entire project team is proud that the home was published in Architectural Digest.
